The Cologne China Digital Culture (CCDC) Days were held as part of the China Festival in Cologne, Germany, from 14 to 16 September, 2012. Huawei Germany was Premium Sponsor of the China Festival and main sponsor of the CCDC Pavilion.
The China Festival was part of the Chinese Culture Year 2012, which celebrated the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Germany and the 25th anniversary of the city partnership between Beijing and Cologne.
It was organised by the State of North-Rhine Westphalia and the city of Cologne.
The CCDC Pavilion gave visitors the opportunity to find out more on Chinese language and culture, with a focus on digital culture. It aimed to support intercultural dialogue and the partnership between China and North-Rhine Westphalia thanks to the use of new media.
Huawei devices including the MediaPad and the Ascend P1 Smartphone were used in the pavilion for the digital culture stations.
Hannelore Kraft, the Prime Minister of North-Rhine Westphalia, opened the Festival together with the mayor of Cologne Jürgen Roters.
Other high level attendees included the Chinese Ambassador to Germany, Mr. Shi Mingde, and the German Ambassador to China, Dr. Michael Schäfer.
